Scenic Battelle-Darby Creek
Battelle-Darby Creek Park stretches along over 14 miles of the Big and Little Darby Creeks. Featuring more than 6,500 acres of prairies, fields and forests, it is the largest of the Columbus parks. The park boasts over 10 miles of trails and several scenic areas for picnicking and other outdoor activities.

The diversity and abundance of both aquatic and terrestrial plants and Ohio wildlife in the Darby creeks is simply tremendous.

Big and Little Darby Creek are home to over 100 species of fish (5 of which are endangered in Ohio) and 43 species of freshwater mussels (8 of which are on the Ohio endangered list) and have designated state and national scenic rivers. In addition to its Ohio wildlife conservation efforts, Metro Parks has restored about 300 acres of prairies using only seeds native to the Darby Plains.
