The facilities at Icelandic State Park
Icelandic State Park is located 5 miles west of Cavalier, North Dakota, on the north shore of Lake Renwick near the U.S./Canadian border. This historic and recreational State Park is blessed with abundant natural beauty, and offers visitors both a wide variety of outdoor adventure opportunities and a look at North Dakota's fascinating pioneer history and heritage. Historical sites include the Pioneer Heritage Center and restored historic buildings like the Gunlogson Homestead, which also contains a 200-acre nature preserve.

Favorite activities at Icelandic State Park include 1st rate North Dakota fishing (for northern pike and other species), as well as boating and swimming. Picnic areas and North Dakota campgrounds with full amenities, such as electrical hookups, comfort stations, showers and sewage dump stations, are available to Icelandic State Park’s visitors. There are also 3 sleeping cabins are also available from mid-May through the end of September.
