North Dakota’s fresh-water Devils Lake is the largest natural body of water in the state and the 2nd largest behind the man-made Lake Sakakawea. The nearby city of Devils Lake, North Dakota takes its name from this lake. It is roughly 65 miles long and encompasses 140,000 surface-acres. It is home to abundant populations of Walleye, Jumbo Perch, Northern Pike, White Bass, Tiger Muskies and Crappies, making it one the best North Dakota fishing lakes.

Devil's Lake has long been a North Dakota vacation destination for other water sports as well. The lake features numerous boat ramps and other facilities around the lake that aid in recreational activities.

Sullys Hill National Game Preserve is located on the southern shore of Devils Lake's, and Grahams Island State Park is located on an island in the lake. Other parks in the area include the Black Tiger State Recreation Area.
