Lake Tschida is located in southwestern North Dakota with a surface area of 6,576 acres. The lake is accessible 24 hours a day and seven days per week. The lake is a is the only water body in the heart river area and has thus become a popular recreation center. The activities provided here are picnicking,swimming, boating, camping, water skiing in the summers and hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling and ice skating in fall and winter. There are 10 boat ramps on the lake and 7 campgrounds with many opportunities. The popular fishing methods used here are crankbaits, jigs and spinners. A fishing pier is designed for those on wheel chairs so that they can also enjoy fishing. The species of fishes in the waters of the lake are crappie, walleye, catfish, perch, white bass, pike, bluegill, large and small mouth bass. The best aspect about the lake is the number of people visiting every year. |
