Lake Waccamaw is located 38 miles
west of Wilmington, North Carolina. It is one of the most enjoyable
of North Carolina lakes.
Boating is popular at Lake Waccamaw. Powerboats and sailboats
may be launched from 2 boat ramps, though parking is limited.
Lake Waccamaw is the property of Waccamaw State Park and all park
rules apply.
There are 4 primitive group camping areas at Lake Waccamaw, with
picnic tables, fire circles and pit toilets located nearby.
The North Carolina fishing is good here, too. Over 50 species
of game and non-game fish swim in Lake Waccamaw, including largemouth
bass, bluegill, shellcracker and redbreast sunfish.
The Picnic areas at Lake Waccamaw include tables and grills. Drinking
water and restrooms are nearby.
