For several years, Lake Placid has been named number one in North America for off-hill activities by Ski Magazine. In fact, Lake Placid has been sited as the model ski resort of the future.

Lake Placid isn't just an outdoor mall like some resorts. There are no sprawling developments, no strip malls, no endless lines of traffic. Lake Placid isn't a corporate notion of what a ski resort should be. Lake Placid is a real mountain resort -- with a real mountain.

Getting to Whiteface Mountain - Lake Placid:

From Points North and East

Come in from I-87, take Exit 34 west. Following Route 9 north; then follow Route 86 to Whiteface.

Alternate route to Whiteface Mountain - Lake Placid:

From Points North and West

Head south across the Cornwall Bridge then east on Route 37 to Malone. Go south on Route 30 to Paul Smiths. Then east on Route 86 through Saranac Lake to Lake Placid.


From Points South

Take I-87, the Adirondack Northway, to Exit 30. Then head west about 28 miles along scenic Route 73. To the Village of Lake Placid.
