Central Park is an 843-acre a rectangle in the borough of Manhattan
in New York City, New York. It is bordered on the north by West
110th Street, on the west by 8th Avenue, on the south by West
59th Street, and on the east by 5th Avenue. these streets are
usually referred to as Central Park North, Central Park West,
and Central Park South where they are adjacent to the park.. It
is operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Central Park is the most visited city park in the United States
with more than 25 million visitors annually.
Central Park was designed by the famous Frederick Law Olmsted
in the late 19th century. It appears almost completely natural,
but nearly all of it is landscaped and most of its many lakes
and streams are artificial. The park features walking and jogging
tracks, ice-skating rinks, a wildlife sanctuary, playgrounds for
children and grassy public-use areas.
