The Finger Lakes region embodies
the bucolic splendor typical of New York’s countryside while
providing national park quality outdoor adventure in its 11 long,
narrow lakes and rolling, crag-split hills. The area encompasses
pleasant and vital towns like Seneca Falls and Ithaca, and as
the region’s best wine growing country it is home to 65
vineyards.
Boating and other water sports/activities are the prime pass-times
here, but far from the only ones. Simply put, almost any conceivable
type of outdoor adventure can be had in the Finger Lakes region.
Any outdoor recreation from golf to cross-country skiing, cycling
to camping, hunting to hang gliding, is available in and around
Finger Lakes. Rock climbers will be especially busy in Ithaca’s
many parks. Site seers and hikers won’t want to miss the
spectacular 215-ft. Taughannock Falls plummeting into the gorge
below at Taughannock Falls State Park.
Ithaca New York is home to Cornell University.
If you want to buy a book, grab a bite or see an Art House Movie, Ithaca’s
lively college town is the place to do it.
Seneca Falls New York is the birthplace
of the United States organized women’s rights movement. Visit
Seneca to see the Women’s Rights National Historic Park and the
National Women’s Rights Hall of Fame.
