New York State hiking is a great way to experience the great New York outdoors, and there are plenty of choices for New York hiking enthusiasts of all experience levels. Visitusa.com has compiled a list of the best trails in New York State. Here are just a few of them.

Backbone Trail:
The Backbone Trail is located in the Finger Lakes National Forest, so it’s very beautiful, and it follows the “leave no trace” ethic.

No-Tan-Takto Trail:
Scenic and colorfully named No-Tan-Takto Trail is nearly all  open pastureland and traverses the Finger Lakes National Forest.

Potomac Trail Network:
The Potomac Trail network connects with the Interloken Trail and the Potomac Group Campground reservation area.

Gorge Trail:
The Gorge Trail travels through a pine tree and hard wood plantation in the Finger Lakes National Forest.
