Manhattan Beach, a beach on the Atlantic Ocean is located on the eastern end of the Coney Island. This beach was developed as a resort by Austin Corbin, in the last quarter of the 19th century. You can reach Manhattan Beach, by walking a two-mile stroll down the wide, lively Riegelmann boardwalk from Coney Island.

Tourists from various urbans, and different walks of life, come to Manhattan Beach to spend their weekends. Only a train or bus ride away from downtown Manhattan, the Manhattan Beach is one of the best affordable, appealing, and convenient destination to visit, in order to escape from New York City's concrete atmosphere.
   
 
Manhattan Beach possesses various tennis courts, popped with pick-up matches, barbecues fired up for hot dogs, and picnics spread across sturdy wooden tables. Not only the family-beach atmosphere, makes the Manhattan Beach so appealing, but its remote promenade affords, beautiful views of Breezy Point, the tip of Rockaway Peninsula, and a collection of stately million-dollar mansions adds to the beauty.

But Manhattan Beach has a hidden fact, that most of the regulars also do not know. The beach is the best place for horseshoe crab mating. Female horseshoe crabs crawl out of the Atlantic Ocean along with their male suitors, every May and June. Their on the sandy shores, they burrow into the sands and bury close to 20,000 tiny green eggs, and stand aside to watch the male horseshoes compete to fertilize them.

Seagulls are very common here. You can spend a lot of time feeding them. There is a great boardwalk , where you can always watch people walking on the boardwalk. One can find many friendly people around. You can also play the games of soccer, football, or even volleyball.
