New York is considered to be the third most populous state in the United States and is present in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. Whenever, you think of New York, the first thought that comes to your mind, is tall buildings, skyscrapers, noisy streets and the thirst for knowledge, but it is not always so; there is a second view to the coin also. You can find miles of rivers, lakes and Atlantic Ocean shores. There are plenty of beaches and beautiful waters in New York, where you can enjoy after a long day of crunching numbers, or vacation during the summer.

New York State is steamy in summer, but is spread over 1800 miles of shoreline with some world class beaches between its northern and southern borders. There are various local beaches which can be selected according to your requirements. You can find beaches especially for, a bona fide beach party, kids, people watching, peace, sports , live music, BBQ-ing and many other activities.
   
 

Rock Away Beach :   Southern, sandier side of New York City best for surfing, sunbathing, strolling on the boardwalk, or enjoying the cool water.

Jones Beach :   World-class swimming destination, with surf bathing along its 6.5 miles of ocean beach, a half mile of bay beach for still water bathing and two swimming pools.

Coney Island Beach :  Carnival rides at Astroland, most exciting roller coaster, the Cyclone are the most popular attractions of Coney Island. Also try for the first-ever Nathan's Hot Dog Stand.

Orchard Beach :   An engineering marvel, covering a mile and 115 acres, is lined with shops, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more than two dozen sports courts.

Main Beach : Situated along the New York's Atlantic coast is a long, clean and golden beach having the best waves and sandbanks. One of the best beach for surfers.

Coopers Beach :  Stretches 500 feet along the Atlantic shoreline and provides a wonderful view of historic mansions in the distance.

Manhattan Beach :  A quarter-mile strip of sand, possessing a concrete promenade, having a two mile  stroll is one of the nicest beach withing the five boroughs. 

Brighton Beach :   A colorful, lively and an interesting place to visit. Going to this beach, makes one think of visiting Russia without leaving New York.
