Canyon Walls a Cimarron Canyon Park
Cimarron Canyon State Park is part of the 33,000+-acre Colin Neblett Wildlife Area, the largest wildlife area in the state of New Mexico. Set in the scenic High Country, shear palisade cliffs and clear running waters beautify the park’s magnificent landscape. Crenellated granite formations make up towering palisade cliffs that dominate Cimarron Canyon State Park’s scenery. New Mexico hiking and cross-country skiing are popular activities near the main canyon.

Cimarron Canyon State Park offers 1st rate New Mexico fishing. Anglers have 8 miles of premier trout waters to enjoy, stocked with browns or rainbows. Smaller trout team in the less crowded Cimarron River tributaries, namely Clear Creek and Tolby Creek.

Wildlife viewing opportunities are available, as songbirds, elk, deer, bear, turkey and grouse call the park home. Hunters visit the park in the fall and winter to bag said elk, deer, bear, turkey and grouse.
