Taos Ski Valley was founded in 1955 by Ernie and Rhoda Blake, and is run by their children and grandchildren. This makes Taos Ski Valley is one of the few family owned and operated ski resorts in North America. The long tradition of family-centered New Mexico skiing is a point of pride here, making it the perfect place for a family ski vacation. Additionally, the Ernie Blake Ski School at Taos Ski Valley is consistently voted the best in the United States, enabling inexperienced children and young adults enjoying skiing here right off the bat.
There’s plenty to do at Taos Ski Valley apart from skiing, like ice skating, tubing and snowmobiling, or more exotic adventures, such as hot air ballooning.
