Sipapu Ski Area is located 22 miles southeast of Taos, New Mexico. This scenic New Mexico skiing hotspot is tucked away in the Sangre de Christo Mountains along the Rio Pueblo, surrounded by the Pecos Wilderness and the Carson National Forest. Short lift lines and varied terrain mean that visitors can enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing to the fullest. Sipapu Ski Area also offers private and group snowboarding and skiing lessons for both adults and children.
The mountain at Sipapu features a vertical drop of over 1,000 feet and boasts 200 acres of skiable surface. The average annual snowfall of 170 inches is enhanced by snowmaking facilities on 70% of Sipapu’s 37 named trails, the longest of which stretches well over a mile.
Also available at the Sipapu Ski Area are a lodge, restaurant and lounge. Guests here can rent equipment, visit the gift shop, and enjoy a variety of lodging options.
