Dryden Kuser Natural Area is located
within this state park’s bounds, home to some of the most
interesting marshland in the eastern United States. And at the
same time, a large obelisk, somewhere near the park’s center,
commemorates the highest point in the state.
So if you plan on visiting here, be ready to divvy up your time.
One day, wade out into the marsh and cast for bass. The second,
trudge over and between boulders on an upward climb for the best
view in the park.
Biking, hiking and lots of campsites are available for prime lakeside
tenting. This park’s popularity seems to be dwindling slightly,
making it a nice, sparsely populated trip.
