The Wallkill River in winter
Wallkill is a rare north flowing river and a tributary of the Hudson. Red Maples line the banks, sticking up through flat marshes and rolling hills and supporting tons of local wildlife.

Hiking is the only real way to get through the park, because of the varying land. The native species here are well respected and this makes for quickly endearing walks, primarily in warmer months.
