The first National Reserve established
by the Parks Service, the Pinelands are a unique, huge place with
a central idea in mind: to learn to live in unison with the native
environment. It is now both a large community and a research center,
allowing scientists and conservationists to work together and
determine what ways to approach construction, technological advancement
and the proliferation of endangered and threatened species within
this region.
