National Historic Landmark City and
the last exit on the Garden State Parkway, Cape May is now one
of the most popular vacation spots on New Jersey’s shoreline.
Very well restored, the authenticity and air of classical American
resort towns is very evident here.
Beautiful beaches are the three-sectioned city’s main attraction.
The Atlantic Ocean blows fresh salty air toward the coast and
sea gulls fly in circles overhead. In summer, it is sometimes
difficult to find a spot for that beach blanket, but come early
enough and you’ll be fine.
Back in town, there are great accommodations and food for visitors.
Well-kept bed and breakfasts provide distinct hospitality and
the New Jersey coast seafood selection is as fresh as it gets.
If the historic streets and white sand of the beach don’t
interest you, there are nearby marshlands and state parks to the
north and west.
