To many New Jersey residents and
vacationers, Island Beach State Park is one of the best sites
on the entire coastline. Although much of Jersey’s oceanfront
is littered with businesses, boardwalks, and casinos, this region
is beautifully untouched.
Dunes dotted with patches of beach grass slope up and down just
offshore, giving beachgoers a nice place to perch. The shore is
full of diverse wildlife and many partake in fishing and swimming
out into the Atlantic. Over the dunes, there is a huge amount
of unspoiled natural beauty. Scenic paths are carved into the
thick forest floor.
If you are interested in bird watching, this is one of the best
spots in the state. And even if you’re not, it is awe inspiring
to see a bald eagle or an osprey take off before your eyes.
