New Jersey has a reputation, not entirely undeserved, for being polluted, mob-infested and overloaded with strip-malls. But that reputation doesn’t take into account the state’s many desirable vacation spots. Some 40% of New Jersey is covered in forests. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area offers riding, climbing and some great boating. There are almost 130 miles of beaches in New Jersey for visitors to enjoy and numerous parklands, making the name “ Garden State” apropos rather than ironic.
