One of New Hampshire’s prime
outdoor attractions is the Lake Umbagog region and its surrounding
islands. Located in the northern portion of the state, close to
the Maine border, this refuge is well attended, despite the season.
Bird watching is an obvious amenity of the park. Most all of New
Hampshire’s refuges and forests are thoroughly overtaken
by majestic and rare fowl.
The oddly shaped islands that offset wide streams and inland lakes
are completely unspoiled by the hand of man. Lake Umbagog Wildlife
Region has thousands of acres within its boundaries. Check nearby
state parks and campsites to extend your stay in this amazing
region.
