New Hampshire’s stretch of the epic Appalachian
Trail is one of the most harrowing of the entire trip. It is both challenging
and confusing, but if you are willing to muster up the courage, it is
a breathtaking trip.
Much of the New Hampshire portion runs through White Mountain National
Park, which is fortunate for those who appreciate expansive natural
beauty. The park is one of the more popular on the east coast, and for
good reason. You’ll find yourself plotting trips through deep
valleys and rolling hills, surrounded by dramatic pines and hardwoods.
Just make sure you piece together the trail’s broken sections
before you go, on a map or with the assistance of park personnel.
