Kayaking in Rye Patch
Rye Patch State Park Recreation Area is centered on Rye Patch Reservoir, along the Humboldt River, 22 miles north of Lovelock in Nevada. It is 22 miles long, features72 miles of shoreline and covers 11,000 surface-acres when at full capacity. Popular activities in the park include boating, water-skiing. kayaking, canoeing, camping, picnicking, swimming and good old Nevada fishing. Facilities include, showers, restrooms, a comfort station and sanitary dumping area. Most of Rye Patch State Park recreation facilities are located near the dam.

The river campground below the dam features tables and restrooms. The campgrounds on Rye Patch Reservoir’s west side have 25 campsites and a single-lane boat ramp and a dock located next to the campground. There are also many undeveloped Nevada campgrounds around the reservoir that can be reached by boat or unpaved roads.
