The Towering Smith Falls
An intriguing blend of immaculate natural surroundings and thoughtfully designed facilities make this stop on the Niobrara river a choice one. Although not as large or developed as similar state parks, it is difficult to lament the loss of thorough modern amenities. The beautiful views are confined to established trails, and they abound. There are beautiful glimpses of Nebraska’s highest waterfall. Camping, showering, etc. is located only on the north shore. This site is ideal for those interested in tent camping and not necessarily preferable for those used to an RV or a cozy cabin. But if you start to miss civilization, charming Valentine is only about twenty miles away.
