 After thousands of years of slow, steady progress (with the occasional set-back) mankind has moved from grease lamps and ox carts to television, super sonic speed and atomic power. Pioneer Village is a Nebraska theme park that has endeavored to show guests the actual development of this astounding progress as it was unfolded by our forefathers and by ourselves.
Pioneer Village features the largest private collection of Americana anywhere. This fascinating Nebraska vacation complex is made up of 28 buildings on 20 acres housing more than 50,000 irreplaceable items of historical value. Many have been restored to operating order, and all are arranged in groups in the chronological order of their development.
Attractions at Pioneer Village include a Frontier Fort, a real, honest-to-goodness Pony Express Station and a home made of sod. The village is also home to an original art collection including 25 Currier and Ives prints, 23 Jackson paintings and the largest single collection of Rogers statues. |
