Montana Lakes - Koocanusa Reservoir

Montana Home | Montana Sitemap

Information on Koocanusa Reservoir:

- This big reservoir supports an excellent kokanee fishery. The best success is had using maggots on wedding rings and cowbells. There are others who swear by jigging Swedish pimples or small spoons spruced up with a maggot or two. The Reservoir is also home to large bull trout and rainbows. Most fishermen troll large plugs with downriggers to catch these fish. Bull trout are listed on the Endangered Species List and need to be released unharmed but they still provide an excellent angling opportunity.
