Information on Griffing,Good,Logan Creeks:
Several small rivers are found on the Tally Lake Ranger District that offer easy fishing and good access. The rivers pass through mostly public lands and have roads that provide close access. The rivers are too small to float. Griffin Creek between Star Meadows area and the Lupine Lake trail is easy to wade and a good place for beginner fly fishermen to practice. Brook trout and cutthroat trout dwell here and the angler is asked to release all cutthroat trout. Sheppard Creek is the twin sister of Griffin Creek and even easier to access from the road. Despite the easy access, fishing pressure is rather light and anglers will probably find they have the river to themselves. Good Creek offers three different types of fishing. The lower few miles have big boulders, fast waters and good fishing for countless rainbow trout. The middle section is slow waters, willows and twisted river bends that offer brook trout fishing. The upper section is forested, fairly small and anglers can catch small cutthroat and brook trout. Logan Creek above Tally Lake is a pretty river with giant boulders but rather poor fishing. Below Tally Lake it becomes large and slow water. Anglers can find rainbow trout, brook trout and the occasional northern pike in deep waters.
