Montana, the fourth largest state, located in the Western region of United States is bounded by Canada from north, North Dakota and South Dakota from east, Wyoming from south and Idaho from the west and southwest. This state is also known as the "Treasure State", "Land of Shining Mountains,", "Big Sky Country," and the "The Last Best Place." It is positioned as fourth in area,forty fourth in population, and has the third lowest population density in the United States.

Montana possess a lot many rivers, most of which are popular for "blue-ribbon" trout fishing, because they not only offer the water needed by residents of the state, but also are a great source of hydropower. It is the single state in the entire world, whose rivers join to three major watersheds (where two continental divides intersect): The Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and Hudson Bay which are divided atop Triple Divide Peak in Glacier National Park.

As Montana is a land locked state, it has no coastal and oceanfront beaches, but there are a few lakeside popular beaches. These are Whitefish Lake Beach, Fresno Beach, Black Sandy Beach, Long Beach.
   
 

Whitefish Lake City BeachLying at the foot of the Big Mountain, is popular for lake trout and sizable large mountain whitefish and best spot for boating, sailing and water-skiing.

Long BeachLocated on the shoreline of the Flathead lake is the best spot for bicycle trailing.

Black Sandy BeachLocated on the shores of Hauser Lake, one of the most popular and worth seeing beaches along with its attractions.

Cooney Beach One of the most popular destination in Montana, is 50 miles south of Billings, 22 miles southwest of Laurel, and 8 miles west of the town of Boyd, is a shoreline on the irrigation reservoir, which is always a busy place in the summer.  

Council Grove Beach :   Between Missoula and Frenchtown, offers 186.9 acres of natural beauty, and hundreds of feet of Clark Fork River frontage is also one of the most popular historical site.

Tiber Beach :   Only less than an hour away from Shelby, the tourists can enjoy one of the best versatile recreational areas in Montana, Tiber Dam-Lake Elwell, spread in 7,678 acres of area.

Fresno Reservoir BeachPossess 7,388 surface acres and 65 miles of shoreline, offering good fishing opportunity for walleye, northern pike, perch, oncrete boat ramp, picnic shelters and swimming beach.

Canyon Ferry Beach :   About 50 miles downstream from the meeting point of Gallatin, Madison and Jefferson Rivers join to form the Missouri River, is very popular and is being used linke any other lake.
