If you’re looking for a unique,
refreshing getaway, odds are the Ozark Mountains of southern Missouri
have something for you. From upbeat Branson and the classic Silver
Dollar City to the thick brushes and snaking streams of Mark Twain
National Park, you’ll wind up as relaxed, challenged or
as excited as you can stand.
Just outside of the city in any direction, there are lakes, mountain
streams, difficult hiking and climbing, secluded mountain resorts
and generally a lot of space to stretch out and explore.
Interesting attractions include Johnson’s Shut-Ins, Bennett
Springs, Table Rock, and many, many more. There are many forms
of recreation in these parts including mountain biking, horseback
riding, canoeing, tubing, kayaking and the occasional designated
off-road vehicle area. Other sportsman type activities that are
rampant in southern Missouri are fishing (fly, boat, shore, etc.),
hunting all types of game, camping and even an activity known
as “orienteering.”
So if you’re interested in an incomparably diverse vacation
spot, the Ozark Mountains surely have an adventure for you to
embark upon.
