Missouri’s peak tourist season lasts from late April to mid-October,
but there’s outdoor fun to be had all-year. The crowds at the
lakes are thickest in mid-summer. Fall constitutes a secondary tourist
season in the Ozarks, and is a popular destination for those tired of
the summer crowds. Winters are a good time in Missouri as well; this
is a state that really puts on the dog around Christmas time. Spring
also is a pleasant and little visited season in Missouri. Branson is
the off-season tourism hotspot in Missouri, but the tourist season seems
to extend itself every year. State Abbreviation: MO
