Information on Shongelo Lake:

This small recreation area is located 5 miles north of Raleigh, MS and 21 miles south of Forest, MS. Shongelo Lake is a 5 acre lake offerering bank fishing. A swimming area, 7 picnic sites, picnic shelter and hiking trail make this site appealing for family day use enjoyment. Shongelo is a fee area and is open seasonally from April 15 to October 15.

Rules and Regulations for Shongelo Lake. These may not always be up to date so make sure you double check before recreating or fishing at Shongelo Lake.

A fee station is located at the entrance gate. No attendant will be on duty. Users should make sure they have correct currency before arriving at the recreation area.

No alcholic beverages are allowed.

The entrance gate is closed at 7:00 pm and opened around 8:00 am
