Mississippi doesn’t have the best reputation with regards to progress, but times are changing and Mississippi is too. The Gulf Coast is a wonderful place to spend a few days, and the scenic and historic Natchez Trace Parkway shouldn’t be missed. The delta is the birthplace of the blues and Tupelo is the birthplace of Elvis Presley. History buffs will want to go to Vicksburg, site of Ulysses S. Grant’s famous (or infamous, at least in the south) 47-day siege.
