Mississippi’s capital and largest
city is a fairly common large town with some metropolitan flair.
Located almost precisely between New Orleans and Memphis, it has
grown into an important southern commerce hub.
Like any major city, Jackson has museums, malls, historical sites
depicting its past, colleges, a zoo, and a decent metropolitan
area. The outlying suburbs are quaint and decidedly wealthy compared
to nearby towns.
Check out a Senators game or get a glimpse of the progress that
has been made here by taking a civil rights tour of town. It is
a chilling yet hopeful reminder of what this region of the world
has been through.
