This park and visitors center represents
the northern, Minnesota-bordering portion of the powerful Mississippi
River. The visitors center is based around the idea of expanding
awareness and appreciation for the river that has a history much
older than the westward expansion of this country. Encapsulating
a total of seventy-two miles, the park is a testament to the ecology-rich
and life-sustaining Mississippi.
