Dotted with overgrown factories and their ensuing communities
from times passed, this State Trail is an eerie testament to nature’s
slow power. Farmers have reclaimed the rich Minnesota soil and rebuilt
the agriculture therein. Another multi-use track, paved along abandoned
railroad lines, this specific trail is known for the variety of pleasant
lake camping sites positioned along the way.
If horseback riding is your thing, Sakatah provides a separate, parallel
trail designed specifically for the equestrian. And in the thick Minnesota
winter, you can tear up the entire 40 mile stretch of the trail by snowmobile.
