The most bustling of Minnesotan cities,
Minneapolis remains an exciting metropolis which was once dubbed
“the first western town” due to it’s placement
on the partition that is the mighty Mississippi. A surprisingly
impressive arts scene and a good amount of interesting architecture
have solidified Minnesota as a youthful, active Midwest niche.
A city rich with commerce and fun, Minnesota is home to fast-growing
businesses, two major sports teams (the Vikings and the Twins),
the nation’s first National Scenic byway, the progressive
Walker Art Center, the borderline ridiculous Mall of America and
various other exuberant downtown hubs. It is also home to the
first serious downtown “skyway” system, which hovers
above downtown to promote walking downtown during harsh winter
months. And, of course, you don’t have to go far to find
the backwoods. A few miles south of downtown are a series of recreational
lakes.
Minneapolis, Minnesota has all the metropolitan allure of a New
York or Chicago without being overwhelmed by traffic, smog and
bravado.
