Michigan has two main tourist seasons. In the summer the shores of Lake
Michigan are thick with visitors, and overcrowding is the main annoyance.
The heaviest visitation occurs in June and July and families enjoy summer
vacations, but the crowds begin to shrink a bit after Labor Day.
The summer tourist season gives way to the 2nd most profitable season
in autumn. This is a favorite season of outdoor adventurers. Anglers
in particular flock to Michigan in the fall to enjoy the peak fishing
seasons.
