Lighthouse on Beaver Island
This budding community has seen some expansion in recent years. Modern comforts, newly paved roads, docks and vast restoration have changed the face of this small town, making it much more accessible for visitors.

Beaver Island is still decidedly small, only about 500 year round residents, and nature is still the number one priority for visitors. Surrounding the tiny town are rocky shores and convenient docks for those who want to hit Superior’s waters. It is not rare to encounter local wildlife, so just be warned. The community itself is warm and welcoming, there are a few local pubs, restaurants, and museums to get yourself acquainted.

Winters are obviously rough, but if you can stand a trip, check out the ice caves, weird formations that pop up on the outskirts of town.
