Michigan certainly lives up to its reputation as the land of lakes.
It is surrounded by four of the five great lakes, and contains
some 11,000 inland lakes, not to mention its countless blue-ribbon
trout streams. It is also a land of campsites with 14,000 to choose
from. Outdoors adventure is the name of the game in Michigan,
from the sandstone cliffs at picture rock to the abundant wildlife
on Isle Royale. Detroit is the great urban center of Michigan,
with all that implies. Lovely little Ann Arbor, home of the University
of Michigan, is one the country’s more charming college
towns.
