This is a steadily growing town, which has been stunted
for centuries. Springfield boasts several weird firsts and famous people,
as well new parks and a new civic center.
The celebrities all have their museums, including the Naismith inspired
Basketball Hall of Fame, the Dr. Seuss Museum, and the Norman Rockwell
Museum. Also, a revitalized downtown makes an interesting stop for cozy
shelter and sustenance.
Only ninety miles from Boston and located amidst several bodies of water,
Springfield has gained a reputation as a plain, cozy town with a storied
past. For a more historical angle, check out Old Sturbridge Village,
a fully functioning museum/town.
