St. Clement's Island State Park is an island destination located off the shore of St. Mary's County near the mouth of St. Clement's and Breton Bays in the Potomac River. On March 25, 1634, the first English settlers under the Baltimore proprietorship sailed to St. Clement's Island on the Ark and the Dove using the island as a base camp for further exploration of a permanent settlement.
