A sunfish swimming in Urieville Lake
Urieville Lake in Kent County, Maryland is a small Maryland fishing lake that was created around 1956. This Y-shaped Maryland lake covers approximately 35 surface acres and has an average depth of about 3 feet.

Thick blankets of aquatic vegetation cover Urieville Lake during the summer season, making boating and fishing extremely challenging, but open water can be found adjacent to the dam even in these summer months. Anglers in the know cast near the spillway below the dam in Morgan Creek to take advantage of the unique fish habitat found there, especially during the spring fishing season.

Urieville Lake is the home of a standard bass/bluegill fishery. Among other game species found in the lake are pumpkinseed sunfish, brown bullhead catfish, golden shiners and common carp. Boats, including motorboats, are permitted on Urieville Lake, providing they maintain the 6-knot speed limit. Urieville Lake does not allow camping and swimming.
