Swallow Falls is located in a scenic Maryland park, and it is for the falls that this park has been named.  The Swallow Falls are a pair of cascades extending down the Youghiogheny River in 2, 30-yard sections. Each cascade drops about 10 to 20 feet depending upon the water flow. Swallow Falls is near Muddy Creek Falls, the tallest falls in the state of Maryland, which are also located in the Swallow Falls Park.
