Maine’s winters are snowy, long and often bitterly
cold. Spring usually arrives late, and is windy and rainy in April,
but otherwise pleasant. Summer in Maine is not overly hot, with the
warmest temperatures occurring in July, and August is humid and foggy.
The fall is cold and dry, with spectacular foliage changes in October.
Occasional effects of the hurricane season can be felt in Maine, usually
in form of excess (but not severe) wind and rain. The most severe weather
comes in the form of the state’s infamous nor’easters, high-wind
snowstorms that can cause severe property damage and health risks during
Maine’s long winters. |
