Maine’s
Old Orchard Beach has remained one of the most popular Maine beaches
and resorts for over a century. Old Orchard Beach is located 20 minutes
south of Portland along the scenic southwestern coast. It features 7
miles of broad, sandy beach, a 500-foot pier and boardwalk and a seaside
amusement park that’s fun for the whole family.
Orchard Beach has a plethora of recreational activities to enjoy, as
well as arcades, amusement rides, entertainment, free concerts and fireworks
every Thursday night during the summertime. The area also has plenty
of wonderful seafood restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and souvenir
shops.
Those who wish to spend a few days can choose from several hotels, motels,
bed & breakfasts and campgrounds. The historic waterfront towns
of Biddeford, Saco, Scarborough and Kennebunkport are only a short drive
away, as are numerous popular Maine vacation destinations such as Boothbay
Harbor and Acadia National Park.
