Southern Louisiana is hot and humid year-round, and rain
falls all throughout the year. The extreme heat and stickiness can make
the summer months uncomfortable. Hurricane season starts in June and
lasts through September. The temperatures in September and October are
milder. Mid-winter days can be cold and wet in the northern parts of
Louisiana.
The dangers of severe weather are evident in the catastrophe that recently
struck New Orleans. This is an extreme case, however, and visitors to
the region are not likely to encounter such weather conditions. |
