Toledo
Bend Reservoir Lake sits on the Louisiana/Texas state line, with most
of its waters on Louisiana side near the town of Many, Louisiana. It
is approximately 185,000 acres, 70 miles long, 3 to 5 miles wide, and
has some 1,200 miles shore line.
There are 80 access-points to the lake, many of which are large-scale
commercial launches and full-facility. The lake is adjacent to state
parks that feature campgrounds and other lodging, as well as other facilities.
This enormous Louisiana lake has plenty of open water to enjoy. Boating
is a favorite activity at Toledo Bend Lake thanks to the well-marked
boat lanes. Jet Skiing, swimming, water-skiing and other water sporting
opportunities abound. SCUBA diving, for example, is extremely popular
near the dam area.
This lake is a prime spot for Louisiana fishing. Toledo Bend has a national
reputation for producing trophy-sized large mouth bass, and the lake
hosts several fishing tournaments. The lake is also home to the small
bream, perch, catfish, and striped bass.
