Holly
Beach is widley known by the sobriquet "The Cajun Riviera"
due to its well-earned reputation as the most pleasant and accessible
of all the Louisiana beaches in the entire Pelican State. This beautiful
Louisiana beach provides plenty in the way of sun and fun in the surf
and the sand, and all in a laid-back atmosphere. Every summer and winter
1,000’s of vacationers and “snow-birds” come to Holly
Beach to go swimming, Louisiana fishing and crabbing, sun bathing, bird
watching and hunting (in the winter only).
Visitors can rent cabins at the beachfront community at Holly Beach.
There is a corner store and plenty of shops where guests can get all
the supplies they need for a day of outdoor adventures.
Among the greatest problems in maintenaning the gulf beaches is erosion.
Structures like rock levees and tire and brush fences can act as a barrier
between the beach and waves. These lie just offshore, so visitors should
take note when enjoying Holly Beach’s waters. |
