Tucked
away between the Gulf of Mexico and Barataria and Caminada Bays in Louisiana
is Grand Isle. This beautiful island and its enticing beaches are considered
among the premier vacation destinations in the American south, with
ample opportunities fishing, boating and relaxing by the sea.
Anglers will quickly discover just how much excellent Louisiana fishing
Grand Isle has a lot to offer. Nearly 50 species of game fish can be
caught within a brief boat ride of Grand Isle, including tuna, tarpon,
red fish and speckle trout. For those who want to surf fish, Grande
Isle’s 10 miles beach are heaven on earth.
Grand Island is also home to Louisiana’s only state-owned/operated
beach on the Gulf Coast. Some 300,000 visitors flock to Grand Isle State
Park every year to enjoy the ocean and camp near the beach. While visitors
must pay a reasonable fee to use the park, few people complain; it is,
after all, one of the best beaches in the region! |
