Follow the gravel road to the powerline. Turn right into the powerline, following the carved steps in the cliff. Turn left, following the cliffline. The trail descends from here until reaching the creek. Rhododendron, mountain laurel and hemlock are abundant along the trail. There are several stream crossings, but there are stepping stones for crossing. After 2.25 miles, you will reach the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area boundary.
